Laura Secord was transplanted from Berkeley, CA to the Magic City in 1976. She is a poet, spoken word artist, teacher and activist. She loves Birmingham, despite its many faults and inequities for its green beauty, and of the commitment determination of it's artist and activist community, who continue to teach her the power of creation against all odds.
